ULQA Scientific at NCBB-26: Exploring the Future of Biotechnology and Biomedicine

On March 28, 2026, ULQA scientific participated in the National Conference on Biotechnology and Biomedicine (NCBB-26), a virtual event organized by the National Institute of Educational Research (NIER). The conference brought together researchers, innovators, and collaborators to share their latest work in biotechnology and biomedicine.

Our Presentation

We presented a poster on our recent study titled “Production and Evaluation of Human Platelet Lysate (hPL): A Xeno-Free Cell Culture Supplement.”

The study focused on developing a sustainable alternative to fetal bovine serum (FBS) for human cell culture applications. hPL batches were prepared from expired platelet units and evaluated for their biochemical properties. Key findings included:

  • Superior biochemical profile compared to conventional FBS
  • Reduced batch-to-batch variability, supporting greater experimental consistency
  • Sustained sourcing through repurposing of outdated platelet units that would otherwise be discarded

This research supports the broader industry shift toward xeno-free, ethically sourced cell culture supplements.

About NCBB-26

The conference featured keynote addresses on artificial intelligence and natural bioactive compounds, along with presentations spanning computational biology, public health, and biomedical research. Approximately 88 attendees participated, with 34 researchers presenting their work.

NCBB-26 provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and reinforced the growing emphasis on developing safer, ethical, and clinically relevant approaches in biotechnology and biomedicine.

Looking ahead

ULQA Scientific remains committed to advancing research in human-derived cell culture solutions. We look forward to continuing this work and sharing future developments with the scientific community.
